Though dogs are universally referred to as \u201cman\u2019s best friend,\u201d the preferred pet in the USA is actually a cat. In a survey conducted in 2012, the <strong>American Pet Products Association<\/strong> found there to be an estimated total of 83.3 million dogs, and 95.6 million cats in American households.
