15 Shorthair Dog Breeds<\/h2>\n

\"Italian<\/p>\n

Italian Greyhound: <\/strong>Lithe and graceful, these shorthaired beauties make excellent pets, with calm and timid demeanors. Handling should be done with caution as these light dogs are injury-prone.<\/p>\n

\"boston<\/p>\n

Boston Terrier: <\/strong>These have a silky short coat, and are the perfect blend of playful, cheerful and gentle, making them a great family dog.<\/p>\n

\"dalmatian\"<\/p>\n

Dalmatian: <\/strong>Once coveted by the fictional Cruella DeVille, Dalmations have sturdy short coats. These loyal dogs require a fair amount of training and a great pets for experienced dog owners.<\/p>\n

Whippet: <\/strong>Like the Italian Greyhound, Whippet dogs are fragile and svelte. They only need to be brushed occasionally, and should be handled with gentleness.<\/p>\n

Basset Hounds: <\/strong>This well-proportioned dog has a red, black, brown and white coat that is short and thick, only needing minimal brushing. Aside from being determined trackers and stubborn pups, these dogs make a very compatible pet for any home.<\/p>\n

French Bulldog: <\/strong>The coats of these entertaining comedians is unique in texture, in that usually it is silky, fine and soft and does not need to be brushed often.<\/p>\n

\"Doberman<\/p>\n

Doberman Pinscher: <\/strong>Brave and quick-to-the chase, these dogs have shiny black and tan coats that hardly need any attention at all. Which is a good thing, because the alert and inquisitive Doberman will keep you busy enough without brushing!<\/p>\n

Jack Russell Terrier: <\/strong> Terriers can be determined as freight-trains and as speedy as bullets, so it makes sense that a short coat would best suit their active lifestyle. Only keep the brush handy for the occasional comb-through.<\/p>\n

Weimaraner: <\/strong>The long body of the Weimaraner was made for speed and agility. They are playful yet patient dogs, that do not need much attention when it comes to grooming their fine coats.<\/p>\n

Vizsla: <\/strong>Similar to the Weimaraner, the Vizsla has a short, manageable coat that rarely needs to be brushed. They require diligent training, but are intelligent dogs who are eager to please.<\/p>\n

Boxer: <\/strong>The Boxers are patient and loving pets. They tolerate children well, love affection, and their short, nearly groom-free coats make them the perfect pet for busy, active families.<\/p>\n

\"Chihuahua<\/p>\n

Chihuahua: <\/strong>High-energy and talkative little dogs, the Chihuahua will want plenty of their owners\u2019 attention. You will need to devote lots of cuddles and playtime to this pet, but brushing does not need to occur on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Rhodesian Ridgeback: <\/strong>Originally from Africa, the Rhodesian has a short coat suited for fast runners and hunting breeds. When you do brush this kind of dog, be mindful not to tamper with the ridge on his back, as the hair grows in different directions.<\/p>\n

Great Dane: <\/strong>Though this gentle giant might have a face twice as big as yours, his expansive coat is surprisingly low-maintenance, and does not need to be brushed daily. (Which is a good thing, because imagine how time consuming that would become!)<\/p>\n
